Utah's Most Expensive Home Sold in 2017
While the Utah real estate market has been strong in 2017, only one sale can sit at the top of all transactions closed this year. That transaction was the $13.5 million sale of a Lord of the Rings inspired estate just outside of Provo, Utah in South Fork Canyon.
Located just a 10-minute drive to skiing and riding at Sundance Mountain Resort, this nearly 23,000 square foot home on 30 acres of land offers 6 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a three-stoy office/library and an outdoor swimming pool. Architect Michael Upwall designed the home with an exterior that is is blanketed with stones quarried in Utah and matched with reclaimed barn wood planks and large beams to create a rustic mountain home. The interior features a sophisticated modern design with clean lines, light walls and rich dark trim. Walls of windows and glass doors capture the views and open to a pool deck with one of the ultimate outdoor entertaining spaces in Utah. The home was built by Magleby Construction in 2014.
Associate broker Kerry Oman of Summit Sotheby's represented the seller in the transaction which closed in late November. The home was previously listed with two other Utah real estate brokerages but did not sell. Summit Sotheby's produced a suite of photography, videography and print marketing materials and advertised the property via its international luxury home marketing channels. Before the home even was listed on the MLS, a buyer contacted Summit Sotheby's and produced an offer that was accepted by the seller. When asked about the sale, Oman noted that this is the most expensive sale in Utah, ever, outside of Park City.
