Old Ranch Road Osguthorpe Farm Rights to be Acquired by Summit Land Conservancy
The Summit Land Conservancy has entered into an agreement with the Osguthorpe family to preserve the 158-acre farm near Willow Creek on Old Ranch Road. The parcel is recognized as the last heritage ranch in the area, and the family has owned the land since the 1940's. The Osguthorpe family manages 178,000 acres around Park City and placed a conservation easement on 121 acres of land near Round Valley in 2012. In a press release, Steve Osguthorpe stated: "Conservation means the wise use of our natural resources." The Summit Land Conservancy will need to raise $5.6 million to preserve the land. Preservation of this land will not only maintain the open space for the Old Ranch Road area, but will likely boost the values of the homes in the Ranch Place neighborhood that border the farm to the south.
